Template Manager
Templates give you a professionally designed starting point for any page type. Instead of building a layout from scratch, pick a template and customize the content — saving significant design and development time.
Opening the Template Manager
Click the Templates icon (layout grid icon) in the left toolbar to open the Template Manager panel. You can also access templates when adding a new page via the Page Manager.
Filtering templates
At the top of the panel, a filter bar lets you narrow the template list by framework:
| Filter | Templates shown |
|---|---|
| All | Every template regardless of framework |
| Foundation | Layouts built on Zurb Foundation |
| Bootstrap | Layouts built on Bootstrap 4/5 |
| Materialize | Layouts built on Materialize CSS |
| Blank | Plain HTML/CSS templates with no framework dependency |
Browsing and previewing
Scroll through the thumbnail grid to browse available templates. Hover over any thumbnail to see the template name and category. Click a thumbnail to open the full-size preview, which shows the complete page layout at desktop width.
Template categories include:
- Landing pages (hero + features + CTA)
- Portfolio and showcase pages
- Blog listing and article pages
- Multi-column content layouts
- Contact and form pages
- About and team pages
Applying a template
-
Select a template
Click the template thumbnail in the panel to preview it. Confirm it matches your vision.
-
Choose where to apply it
Click Apply to Current Page to replace the current page’s layout, or Create New Page to add it as a fresh page to your project. Applying to the current page overwrites all existing elements — make sure you have saved first.
-
Customize the content
The template loads on canvas with placeholder text and sample images. Replace them with your real content using the inline text editor and the Resources Manager.
Importing external templates
Site Designer supports .rsdtheme template files shared by third parties or the CoffeeCup community:
- Click the Import button at the top of the Templates panel.
- Select the
.rsdthemefile from your computer. - The template appears in the panel under a Custom category and is available for any project.
Saving your own template
Build any page you are proud of and turn it into a reusable template:
- Open Page Manager, right-click the page you want to save, and choose Save as Template.
- Enter a name and an optional description.
- The template is saved locally and appears in the Template Manager under the My Templates category for all future projects.
